Incentive travel in Phuket

Incentive groups are where Phuket performs hardest. A four-night programme can put delegates on a private catamaran through Phang Nga Bay, into the limestone hongs by sea kayak, and onto a beach for a themed closing dinner, all inside a short radius. Charter capacity is genuine, licensed and available in fleet numbers, which lets us run 300 guests on the water at once.

Phuket earns its place on a MICE shortlist through hotel supply rather than convention infrastructure. The island holds one of the largest concentrations of internationally branded resort rooms in Southeast Asia, and the better properties carry ballrooms in the 400 to 1,000 delegate range with adjacent breakout space, beach lawns and pool decks. For most corporate groups the resort itself becomes the venue, and the island supplies the programme around it.

Experiences we build programmes around

Access rather than catalogue bookings - most of these are relationship purchases.

01

Phang Nga Bay by private charter

Full-day sailing among the limestone karsts, with swimming stops, onboard lunch and kayak launches.

02

Old Town heritage walk

Shophouse architecture, Peranakan history and local coffee shops on foot through Thalang Road.

03

Southern Thai cooking session

Market visit followed by hands-on instruction in curries and seafood dishes specific to the south.

04

Promthep Cape sunset reception

Cocktails staged at the island's southern headland as the light drops over the Andaman Sea.

What a Phuket incentive includes

  • Private catamaran and speedboat fleets to Phang Nga Bay, Phi Phi and the Similans
  • Sea kayaking into the hong lagoons, run at tide-appropriate times
  • Beach clubs taken exclusively for daytime hosting or sunset receptions
  • Tiered reward structures, with villa and yacht upgrades for top performers

Team activities and group formats

Every activity day is built with at least two intensity levels so nobody is excluded.

  • Boat-building and regatta challenge on the beach, finishing with a timed race in the shallows
  • Island treasure hunt by speedboat across two or three anchorages in Phang Nga Bay
  • Sea kayak relay through mangrove channels, scored on navigation and teamwork
  • Reef and beach clean-up run with a local marine conservation group, with a briefing on Andaman ecology

Gala dinner and offsite venues

  • Beachfront gala dinners with staged lighting, fire performance and a full scenic build on the sand
  • Yacht-club and marina terraces overlooking the charter fleet at sunset
  • Full buyout of a cultural theme venue for a dinner-and-show finale
  • Cliffside restaurant decks on the west coast headlands, taken exclusively for cocktail receptions

Private and event venues in Phuket

  • Phuket FantaSea, Kamala Large cultural theme venue with a theatre and banquet capacity in the low thousands, used for full-buyout dinner shows.
  • Ao Po Grand Marina The island's principal deep-water marina and the usual departure point for yacht charters and Phang Nga Bay programmes.
  • Royal Phuket Marina East-coast marina with waterfront function space and berthing for mixed-size charter fleets.
  • Phuket Old Town, Thalang Road Sino-Portuguese shophouse district used for walking programmes and street-scale evening events under permit.
  • Resort ballroom campuses on the west coast Bang Tao, Layan and Kamala properties offering 400-1,000 delegate plenaries with adjoining beach and lawn space.

Ground handling detail

  • West-to-east coast transfers run 30-70 minutes; we cluster hotels and boat departures to avoid crossing the island twice in one day
  • Marine departures require passenger manifests, marine-office clearance and licensed operators; monsoon-season sailings need alternative itineraries held
  • Airport arrivals spread across many international flights, so we staff the arrivals hall in shifts rather than running a single meeting point
  • Peak season from December to February tightens both rooms and charter boats; we advise contracting 9-12 months ahead

Designing your programme

The measure of an incentive is whether your winners tell the story afterwards. Give us the qualifier profile and the per-head budget and we will design a Phuket programme around what that group will actually value.
