Incentive travel in Lombok
This is what Lombok is for. The island delivers the tropical reward that qualifiers expect while feeling genuinely undiscovered, which matters when a large share of the group has already been to Bali. Programmes usually mix a Gili island day, a Sasak cultural half-day, south-coast beach activity and a closing gala on sand, with circuit driving experiences available as a premium add-on at Mandalika.
Lombok sits directly east of Bali and shares much of the same climate and coastline, without the traffic or the crowds. The southern coast around Kuta and Tanjung Aan is the draw: wide horseshoe bays, headlands you can still have to yourself, and the Mandalika special economic zone, where government-backed development has added international-standard resorts and the Pertamina Mandalika International Circuit. Mount Rinjani, Indonesia's second-highest volcano, dominates the interior.
Planning facts
- Airport & access
- Zainuddin Abdul Madjid International Airport (LOP), Praya, approx. 20 km / 30-40 minutes to Kuta Mandalika and around 70 minutes to Senggigi
- Best season
- April - October (dry season)
- Group size
- 20 - 800 delegates
- Getting there
- Frequent short domestic hops from Bali, Jakarta and Surabaya plus limited regional international services; most groups connect through DPS in well under an hour of flying time.
Experiences we build programmes around
Access rather than catalogue bookings - most of these are relationship purchases.
Gili islands boat day
Fast-boat charter to the car-free trio for snorkelling over turtle grounds, island cycling and a beach lunch.
Sasak village and weaving visit
Guided time in a traditional settlement with backstrap weavers, rice barns and a village-hosted welcome.
Southern beaches coastal run
Headland-to-headland route past Tanjung Aan, Mawun and Selong Belanak, with a private picnic on an empty bay.
Rinjani foothills and Sendang Gile waterfall
Northern uplands trek through monkey forest to twin waterfalls, with a plantation lunch on the return leg.
What a Lombok incentive includes
- A credible alternative reward for audiences who have already been given Bali
- Private beach and headland dinners on coastline with no competing venues in sight
- Gili island charters, snorkelling and turtle sites within a 30-minute boat transfer
- Track-day and driving experiences at the Mandalika circuit as a top-tier reward layer
Team activities and group formats
Every activity day is built with at least two intensity levels so nobody is excluded.
- Sasak stick-fighting (peresean) demonstration and drumming workshop with village performers
- Beach olympics and outrigger paddle races on the south-coast bays at Tanjung Aan or Selong Belanak
- Team karting or driving challenge sessions at the Mandalika circuit facilities
- Pearl-farm and coastal CSR programme with reef-restoration planting alongside a local marine group
Gala dinner and offsite venues
- Beach marquee gala on Mandalika-zone sand with full production and fire staging
- Pit lane and paddock dinner at the Mandalika circuit for launches and awards nights
- Sunset headland dinner above Tanjung Aan with the group holding the entire promontory
- Gili island beach club buyout with fast-boat transfer and a return night crossing
Private and event venues in Lombok
- Pertamina Mandalika International Circuit Purpose-built racing circuit with paddock and hospitality structures usable for launches, track experiences and corporate events.
- Mandalika ITDC beachfront event grounds Managed open-air land within the special economic zone, suitable for marquee builds and large outdoor gala nights.
- Resort convention ballrooms, Mandalika and Senggigi Purpose-built hotel conference floors covering plenaries into the several hundreds, the island's main indoor capacity.
- Sade and Ende traditional Sasak villages Preserved settlements with thatched rice barns and hand-weaving; cultural visits and small welcome ceremonies.
- Gili Trawangan, Meno and Air Car-free offshore islands reached by fast boat; beach club buyouts and small-group island dining.
Ground handling detail
- Transfers from LOP are short and reliable, but the Praya to Senggigi leg crosses the island and needs a full 70 minutes
- Gili and offshore charters are weather-dependent; we hold a land-based alternate and confirm sailing by 06:00 on the day
- Specialist AV, production crew and premium F&B supply is often brought from Bali, so lead times run longer than on the main island
- Resort inventory is limited relative to demand in peak dry season; we advise contracting room blocks nine to twelve months ahead
Designing your programme
The measure of an incentive is whether your winners tell the story afterwards. Give us the qualifier profile and the per-head budget and we will design a Lombok programme around what that group will actually value.
